These were painted over when I got the truck. The paint has weathered away and revealed this number. I’m just curious if anyone knows what it signifies. It’s not related to the serial number.
Are there any rebuild kits available for the short air pack? I have not been able to find any. I had a kit that I had ordered a few years ago but, when I went to rebuild the airpack it was missing some of the parts and I had to reuse some of the old parts. I still have brake fluid leaking out of...
The last one I got from eBay had several parts missing from the kit. I had it several months before I realized it so I did not return it. The auction picture was of a sealed kit but it did not come sealed. I would make sure it’s all there if you don’t plan to use it right away.
I have spent hours trying to get the info that is here in just a few posts
thanks for sharing your knowledge.
One of my master cylinders does not have the seats in the ports.
I have a few old rebuild kits for these and it has the rpv and large seats
that won’t work on mine but, it also has the...
Thanks Rusty for the correction on the master cylinder info.
I have a couple of these master cylinders and one of them is a
60 40 configuration I also have 1.5” wheel cylinders for the front.
just so I understand what you are saying. Would I put the 60%
To the front? I have not been able to...
I put a C turbo on my non turbo multi-fuel.
I set the pump timing to the LDT timing mark
and it still smokes more than my other truck.
It pumps out that grey/brown smoke.
I need to turn the fuel down some before I put it on the road.
Yes one like that would work. The master cylinder with reservoir attached are not hard to fine but,
it does need to be the right configuration. It needs to be 50% and 50% output.
It will need residual check valves in the port and the port size should be 9/16 -18 or 1/2-20 thread.
some of them...
Started working on my m275 again
and the air pack and master cylinder
were leaking bad and I have the parts to fix it
but with the choice of parts being 30 year old
new or recently made parts from overseas
there is no way I could ever trust the single
circuit system. My other truck I put...
Happened to my truck http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?144215-LDT-465-1C-engine-noise&highlight=
I had the same thing happen on a truck I bought. It ran fine just had a knock.
I put in a new liner and piston I got from white owl.
Bypassing the FDC and not cutting the fuel back
could...
I had the same issue on my non turbo m275
and it was the exhaust valves and guides. It would actually spray a
mist of oil from the exhaust with the pipe removed.
I had the machine shop put new guides and valves in it.
That fixed it.
The gauge is grounded through the bracket that holds the gauge in the dash.
make sure that it is tight or run a wire from the mounting nut to a good ground point.
If you are going to have the head machined the injectors will need to be removed.
The injector tips stick out of the block side of the head. There are a few post on here
that show you how to build a wrench to remove the lower head nuts. I made a
wrench from a cut down boxed end wrench and welded...
If you are going to have the heads machined make sure they understand the maxium
amount that can be removed. Some shops will get the head setup close and take .005 or .010
cuts until it is cleaned up. Not a problem on most gas motors it won't work on these. They should be
machined on a grinder...
