    Chat missing

I can't currently get either chat to work right now. I don't appear to have the right program for the temporary chat. Yep, I am trying to get back on here more after my long absence.

will this winch work on an m37?

That looks bigger than a W300, but even it it is a W300 or larger that appears to be an early version of the civvy styled trucks. It is worth $500 just to get as a collector's item as none of those trucks were made in very high numbers! Good find even if the winch won't work on an M37!

Just got my first m37 !!!

I wish there were replacement panels as well. The left side of the bed on my truck really could use replacement. Panels are easy enough to get off since just about everything bolts on these trucks. Well, rusty bolts aside that is....

Just got my first m37 !!!

Congrats! The M37 is a sturdy old critter and yours looks alot better than mine! Sounds like you have the typical rust spots for them. [thumbzup]

    M37 Licensing

I checked the title tag on my M37 today and it does not give a model designation after all. It appears it was Ohio that gave the truck that designation when it enter this state years ago! I think they just took 1952 Dodge and condensed it into a model number. I can only track it back as far as...

    M37 Licensing

Thanks for all the advice. My truck still has the Pennsylvania title tag riveted to the dash for when it came out of military service. Pennsylvania called the truck a model D52 and put it under truck classification. Of course, the truck had gone straight from the military to a construction/well...

    M37 Licensing

Sadly, Ohio is very 'anal' about vehicles. Especially my insurance company. Anything 1 ton and over and they won't insure it unless you get 'fleet' insurance. Ohio also charges about twice as much for licensing 1 tons and over if they are classified as a truck on the title. Unfortunately, other...

    M37 Licensing

I am wondering if an M37 can be retitled as a pickup or not? Right now mine is titled as a truck and in Ohio that can lead to expensive licensing and problems getting insurance. :( :lost:

    Correct M37 Engine Color???

My truck appears to have been OD originally. Though it does have something like 7 layers of peeling paint on it! Previous owner stripped the paint on the one fender and once it got down to the original OD the stripper wouldn't work anymore. Under that is some black looking primer. Could be mine...

    M-37 Steering gearbox

I did find where the slop in my steering gearbox is at. When you wiggle the steering wheel, the output shaft wobbles up and down in the housing! Wonder what the heck caused that to happen? Also I wonder if it can be re-bushed or just get a rebuilt one or NOS one if possible. I looked at another...

    Correct M37 Engine Color???

My M-37 engine is blue, but parts like the oil filter housing and I think the air cleaner are all OD. Previous owner thought it was a swapped 217, but I found T245 on the block which indicates the 230. Has the oil pressure and compression of a rebuilt engine. Healthiest 230 I've ever had. Oh...

    M37 pulled from service

Speaking of different engines in an M-37, I work with a Vietnam vet. He can remember M-37's refit with diesel engines, usually the later 'B' variant. That has stayed in his mind because of the problems they posed at the fuel depots. Guys used to fueling up the gassers would accidentally fill the...

    M-37 Steering gearbox

I'll try that, thanks. I think I used to get catalogs for them when I had my civilian 1960 Power Wagon, but that truck needed more work than I could do. I'll give them a call as soon as possible as I don't like trucks that wander all over the road. Have dealt with that before and its not fun.

    M-37 Steering gearbox

I have just dipped into the world of military vehicles by buying a 1952 Dodge M-37 off a friend of mine. Right now I am trying to get the truck road-worthy to do a couple of tasks before the bodywork begins. One worry is that the steering gearbox has some definite slack in it. The gearing seems...
