I have a 4" steel tube with 2-90 degree rubber elbows culminating in a larger 4" K&N style filter. It draws air from between the inner fender and the radiator shroud. So the air is cool. And even with the fuel rate turned up and full boost it does NOT suck in. Sorry I dont have a picture. I will...
Well gentleman I appear to have overlooked where this thread was started. I was referencing my 8.3 Cummins in my 923. So this info I gave is NOT applicable to your vehicle/engine. My apologies.
I used 1 of the 90 degree rubber elbows to a straight section of 4" tube then another 90 elbow, then a stubby peice of 4" tube. This culminated into a 4" K&N filter. Works great and breathes really free. Recently I installed a Pyro, and boost gauge. With the hammer down I read up to 35 lbs of...
Relocated the batteries (2) to the toolbox under the passenger door. Also removed the crew seat and the floor mats... no rust!!!!
The cables were long enoug if routed under the frame and away from the exhaust. Also found 2 spent 50 BMG cases, and $.40 cents lol behind the crew seat.

So I have been wanting to bob the 923, but before I commited to cutting it that much and dropping an axle I decided to just shorten it and see how it looked. I sectioned out 18" from the bed, removed the spare lift and spare, rerouted the exhaust to a 5" straight pipe and moved the bed forward...
Turned up my pump 4 turns..... WoW what a difference. My lightened 923 used to take 2+ seconds to spool up taking off. Now it takes off instantly, and buries the speedometer quickly without the pedal down all the way. Thanks guys!
