Awesome thanks, 1 more question are the candy canes at the turn off to the event site. This will be my first time to join in on the fun and haven't been to that exact spot and don't have a GPS but looking forward to meeting everybody and checking out real steel :naner:I checked it out on Google...
Sounds like I'll be able to make it at least for Saturday and Sunday :clinto:,and I don't care if the DMV gets me the historical plates or not I'm only a month our of registration. Are there going to be any road/trail markers to look for if a guy doesn't have a GPS to follow ?
Hey Gripy, this is a bit off topic , after reading that you did your historical plates at AAA I went down to Victorville Thursday and tried to do just that but only to find out the DMV won't let AAA do anything over 10,000 pounds and since my truck is 21,000 pounds empty I was advised I need to...
Thanks for the heads up on the 25 buck fee, I have the truck on "Non Op" right now, the renewel was just last month in February so I'm hoping to get out of the $700.00 registration fees, so we'll see how that plays out. Been in Ca all my 68 years and love it here in Big Bear but the...
OH Cool, thanks for the info I'll go to AAA in Victorville, closest to Big Bear on Thursday and if they can't do it I'll go ahead and go to the DMV in Barstool. So you didn't have to take the truck with you ? I would but that's a 90 mile round trip and with diesel at $2.69 in Big Bear and 8 MPG...
I just printed out all of the forms needed to register the truck as Historical and made an appointment at the Barstow DMV for this Friday so wish me well. Did you have to take the truck to the DMV ???? I plan on showing pictures of it dressed up with American Flags when I put it in the 4th of...
OHHHH YEA, and how easy was that to do and did you also get it registered as NON commercial. I'm going to try to do that with the '91 M923A2 real soon now that it's 25 years old, like in the next couple of weeks. This $700.00 a year for registration BS is a make or break on if I keep the truck !!!
Thanks for the heads up on the Noco charger, just ordered 1 on Amazon Prime for 99 bucks and it will be here Tuesday . It shows 12/24 volts so did you charge each battery individually or all 4 at the same time , thanks again
Thanks, I did read an article posted here about how to re-generate the hawker batteries and found a charger that has an option for AGM batteries and had to tap into a neighbors 110 outside outlet ( truck sits on undeveloped property across from my residence) and will try to being em back. Got it...
Wow, thanks I'll have to look into that. Were the NAPA batteries maintenance free , not that I mind checking em from time to time ,but at 99 bucks that's great . Much better than the Hawker batteries
I like the idea of usng 2 8D batteries instead of 4 AGM batteries in the M923A2, could you post a pic of the install or email that to me direct at bogshotrods@charter.net. I'm not real good with electrical connections so wiring to get 24 volts might be a challenge so a diagram would be greatly...
I found the inner axle seal for the M923A-2 today 9/28/2015 at http://ccsurplus.com/ for $22.00 plus shipping, this is a hard part to find so I ordered 2 of them
Same for Bogshotrods, just have to much to do to get ready for Moab, with 3 vehicles to get ready and still working on 2 of em and only 2 open days to do it, so you guys have a great time and I'll catch ya next time , maybe here in Big Bear as I read another post that there was an event in 2014...
