What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

According to the media we should already have millions dead too. If it's not doom and gloom they will make it doom and gloom. Got to sell those news papers.

So I got my wrecker stuck again...

This is why you need two. So when the first one gets stuck you can get the second one stuck and they won't be lonely.:ROFLMAO:

    My New(to me) Oshkosh M1070

I got a Deuce and thought that was big. Then I got an M816 and thought that was big. But that's a huge.....truck. At least you don't have to worry about merging on the freeway. It will be like Moses parting the sea when they see you coming.

    Fluid coupling...fluid flywheel...or torque converter

Nice job with the cleanup. Are Ferret's street legal? That would make rush hour traffic fun.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I think you have to take the pump off and then remove the can from it. It looks to go together like a standard chevy power steering pump only bigger.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Sounds like it's building pressure in the can. So a stopped up filter could be the problem.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Finished putting the engine in the 816 last week and started it up. Took it for a short drive around the yard and when I pulled back up on the concrete it was pouring oil on the ground. After a little inspection found out it was power steering oil. One of the steel lines running across the frame...

M816 (M809 Series) fuel pump drip

One of my 816s drip from the same place while running. What style pump do you have the one with the secondary governor bolted on top or the one that has the secondary governor made into the main body of the pump?

    Dual governor injector pump.

I was told by an injector shop that a single governor pump can't have a secondary governor added to it but now I'm not sure that 100% accurate. My 816 had a fuel leak from the pump when I got it but only when the crane drive was engaged. I had just had a pump built for the 816 I was putting back...

    Long travel on shifter.

For that price I'll order a new shifter and report back with the results. Thanks for the responses.

    Long travel on shifter.

I have an 816 and the transmission shifts seem to be very long. When I shift in to any of the forward throw gears (R-2-4) the shifter will hit the dash and so will your knuckles too. Any of the rear throw shifts (1-3-5) will hit the 4x4 shifter or PTO shifter. I pulled the shift tower off and...

    Resurrecting 816

Decided it would be best to go ahead and replaced the bearings on the fan Idler while it was all apart before the radiator goes in.
