Economical source for M998 seat cushions?

I’m looking for a set of green seat cushions for the rear seats in an M998. There are some on eBay but they want a fortune for them, then high shipping on top. Any help would be appreciated?

Pics of trucks painted in Sand (FS33303) or Sandstone (FS33510) anyone?

In a previous thread, I was commenting on Desert Tan 686 FS33446 (which I mistakenly called Desert tan 383), being too peachy or pinky. I noticed some new parts I had ordered, such as door rails, were definitely painted from the manufacturer in a sand color other than 33446. Looking through the...

Home Depot 383 tan too peachy/pinky. Alternative code?

I've painted several humvees and an M923 with the Behr Marquee Federal Standard 383 tan code. I feel it's accurate to the color, but find that it is a little pinky or peachy compared to the tan tops and doors. The older equipment seemed to be a little sandier or browner in color and I think it...

Wiring question. 24V one wire alternator into HMMWV

Thank you. So I assume that I can just connect the big + wire to the alternator then, and leave the two small ones tied back and capped?

Wiring question. 24V one wire alternator into HMMWV

Due to a failed generator in a 1986 Humvee, I've decided to install a self-exciting alternator in it's place. Other than the ground, the original generator has 3 wires, two small and one large. One small wire has a bullet connector (as far as I can tell this is the signal wire to charge), the...

    WD40 paint refresh

I’m not sure about the soft top, but I don’t see why not. The product is just flax oil that is heat treated. You could always try a small area and see how it works. If I had to guess, I’d say it would work just fine. May even help preserve the fabric, just like it does for wood.

    WD40 paint refresh

So how did it look the next day?

    WD40 paint refresh

Boiled linseed oil works wonders. Looks like the WD40 treatment, but actually dries, and stays looking that way. Dust doesn't stick to it after drying a couple of days. Available at any home improvement store and is usually used on wood as a waterproofer and protectant.

Best aerosol available similar to tan canvas top color.

Is this the type of rustoleum that you were referring to? looks like the photo won’t load, but label says Rustoleum camouflage, with the word “specialty” on it and no-reflective finish. Has a picture of a duck boat on the label too.

Best aerosol available similar to tan canvas top color.

I’ve got a canvas back wall for a 4 man M998 that is green, but I’d like to use it with my tan top. Is there a common box store spray paint on the market that is very close to the original tan canvas color? I’d probably use a product like krylon fusion for the first coat, to bite into the...

Where to buy 4 man soft top canvas and rear wall?

I’m looking for a new, or good used 4 man soft top and rear curtain in Tan. I’m in Canada and there are no vendors here that I know of. Any ideas on best source that would ship to Canada?

86 Chev 6.2 fuel pump on ‘88 humvee?

Thank you. Correct pump from rockauto is 2 weeks away, and amazon will not ship that same correct pump to canada for some reason. I'm going to give that 86 chev pump a go.

86 Chev 6.2 fuel pump on ‘88 humvee?

Did it work ok without the vent line? As far as I can tell, that 3rd line is only to allow the diaphragm to move freely when submerged in deep water.

86 Chev 6.2 fuel pump on ‘88 humvee?

I’ve got a fuel pump on my 88 humvee that I suspect is weak (no 9 psi at bleeder). I am unable to get the pump with the third port on it for the vent line. At least at the moment, I’m here in Canada and some things are really hard to come by. From what I can see an 86 Chevy 6.2 L fuel pump...

Part # for 88 humvee fuel pump

It’s just a hunch that it’s weak. When I loosen the bleed screw on the filter body while it’s running, I get a very low pressure bleed. Same with water separator bleed. I just thought the mech fuel pump should have more pressure than that. Maybe not but it’s a fairly cheap part. Any thoughts?

Part # for 88 humvee fuel pump

I’m looking for a replacement fuel pump for an 88 humvee. Is a Delco 42160 a direct replacement? Thanks.

Glow plugs burning out, even with manual controller

I have a 1988 M998, on which I installed a ford style relay and push button manual controller. Has been working great but recently wouldn’t start. Turns out all glow plugs were non-functional with a resistance test. I installed a new set of 24V plugs from Kascar, they worked excellent for a...

How To Repair HMMWV EESS S3

With a box that the glow circuit has failed or is acting up, the following parts will get you going. Ford external starter solenoid in 24V version from Napa, push button activator switch and some wire and connectors. Install this system in place of the glow plug circuit and just leave that...

Best place to buy soft top and C pillar?

I'm looking to convert a 2 door Humvee to a 4 door and am in need of a top, back wall, c-pillar and door rails, new or used. I see prices all over the place on eBay and Craigslist, but there must be some parts dealers that are better than others too. Any input is appreciated.

Looking for 1989 M998 official specs pdf

I'm looking for the actual specs for an 89 m998 Humvee 2 dr. If anyone would have a link to them, I would greatly appreciate it.
