    convert mep-018a to 12 volt starting system

    I am considering converting the starting system on my generator to 12 volt. Has anyone done this? I'm thinking that rewinding the starter for 12v, swapping the solenoid for a 12v solenoid and converting the battery charging regulator to 12v is all that will be required. Opinions? 1st hand knowledge?
