    Tach install: power source?

Yup that's what I was tracking. It's not like all the dash lights and stuff go out when the glowplugs cycle.. I'm going to tap into the brown wire at the cluster, which is the ignition switched 12v source. Hopefully it works out 🤞

    Tach install: power source?

Installing a 4k RPM C60 tach, and according to https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/factory-tach-install-will-it-work.100057/post-2179753 " When you wire in the tach, do not tap into the ignition 12+ wire in dash wiring harness, when the glow plugs cycle, it kills power to the dash, so the tach...

    Water Pump Part Numbers

Apologies for bumping an old thread, but what did you do to redesign the heater hose routing @cucvrus

    NV4500 pains

Manual trans with the locker is definitely a lot noisier, clunkier, and jerkier than with the auto. I've learned to just be very smooth with the throttle and clutch, and not freak out if it sounds like my driveshaft just snapped for no reason, especially after making a turn.

    3/4 ton axle swap

Nv4500 with 4.56 gears will do 75 easy but you may find the truck lacks power up grades or when loaded.

    Block heater

Installed one and never had an issue with it.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Looks like I got myself a radiator leak. Few years ago I tried tracking down a copper 4 row radiator and seems I just missed the last of those being available. Probably just get a parts store aluminum/plastic one for now and keep trying radiator shops until I find someone that will recore my OEM...

    Manual trans clutch and flywheel.

By lash noise you mean that growl sound in neutral with the engine running? It took a bit for mine to do that after my rebuild. What bellhousing did you use?

    Manual trans clutch and flywheel.

I have a clutch and flywheel that came of a 93 6.5 with one of those discs that has a second row of springs. It's at home and I am not, but when I get there in a few weeks I'll take a look and see if I can find anything useful. All I remember for sure is that it was a sachs clutch disc.

My CUCV spin on fuel filter mod

I was able to get to mine with a long screwdriver from between two of the intake runners on the side. Bring a flashlight!

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Just because you have pressure doesn't mean you have the volume. Or that the IP is even trying to pull in fuel.

A question on a M1009 that has probably been asked 1,000 times

Just to clarify, DOT 5 fluid is what should be in there, as that is what the govt used. If you were using DOT4 without flushing everything out, now would be a good time to do that before installing the new master cylinder. Use whichever fluid you want but make sure to flush the system and dont...

    My NV4500 swap

Earlier this year I started work on swapping an NV4500 into my M1008. I found that there was a lot of threads about this but very few went into all the details with the info I needed. This thread will not really go into details either, as erasedhammer already did an amazing write up in his...

My CUCV spin on fuel filter mod

Replaced my box fuel filter the other night which must have angered the gremlins in the filter base. It started leaking terribly bad.. next day I did the spin on setup with the wix base and a napa filter. I used the stock mounting bracket, cut off at the bend, then welded a few bolts on to it...

    NV4500 swap clutch fun!

I like it. Should help your throw out bearing last a lot longer

    NV4500 swap clutch fun!

Not big enough and the fork AA sends you wouldn't work well with it I think

    NV4500 swap clutch fun!

I like that idea. I think the wedge is less than ideal as it seems to bind a bit on the pointed edge. A half round shape, maybe with a nut welded inside it so you can still use a jam nut setup would be great.

    LB7 swap... anyone done this?

Not too up to speed on duramax stuff but I did notice that you can get conversion mounts here https://www.thedieselpage.com/conversionmounts.htm I'm going to stick with a 6.5 in mine, seems much easier :)

    NV4500 swap clutch fun!

Yeah that wedge is pretty thick, probably equal to the amount I had to chop off the rod to get everything to fit..

    NV4500 swap clutch fun!

That sucks. I'm not sure how great the wedge is to be honest, you might be just as successful with the nuts. If you really want it though you can snag it separately https://www.advanceadapters.com/products/716139--gm-release-arm-wedge/
