    Rockwell axles

What was the first year for Rockwells ? 1953? I'm looking at a 53 M35 Studebaker and I suppose it's got the Ball and claw style axles. Are these worth a hoot? Is it going to cost just as much to upgrade the axles as it is to find the U joint style axle?

    why bob

because it's mine and I can do what ever I want with it, that's why. For those of you with no imagination or means to create something with some personal flare, drive a stock, slow, noisy, turd Deuce like the other 40,000 guys

designing & building custom winch mounts - front & rear

elec front winch the bumper mounts with 6 bolts per side onto the frame. I moved the bumper out one bolt hole so now I have only four bolts per side holding the bumper on. I think that's plenty strong. I wanted to keep the winch and bumper up tight and light. If I have serious winching...

    What is this truck?

...and it is HUGE ! It's hard to tell how much of a giant it is without some perspective. I parked my Bobber with 52's next to it and my Bobber looks rather wimpy.

    Halftrack front axle question

do you know what the differences are? does it rotate the "other" way like a M211?

is a bobbed deuce a practical daily driver?

Depends on what you consider practical. Where you live makes a big difference too. I use mine as a daily driver. I live in a very rural area and have 3 miles of dirt and 15 miles of paved two lane hiway to town. I alternate between it and my 61 K10. My M35 has 52's, air ride seats and rear...

    Are 14.5 x 20's a crappy tire?

OK, thanks for the quick response. I'm going to go look at them tomorrow. I guess the main thing is to try to determine whether or not they've ever been mounted.

    Are 14.5 x 20's a crappy tire?

I can get some "new" Michelins cheap for a 4X4 project but it seems to be the consensus they rot or wear out in a hurry. I understand even if they look "new"once you air them up they will have cracked sidewalls 9 out of 10 times. Anybody with past experience, good or bad would be...

    Electric Winch Install

winches I like one of each. An electric on the front for pulling out little stuff like Fords and Toyota's etc. Or, when I'm by myself, an electric winch is much easier and safer. I don't pretend it will do near the job of a PTO. And a 20k PTO on the rear for serious jobs and a soldier B...
