    Ownership Costs - Reality

As I read more, I am getting concerned about a vehicle with air-brakes. As others have stated, even a 30 year mechanic might not understand them. Are there any of the 5 tons that DON'T have air-brakes? If not, am I then looking at 2.5s only? Thanks, Danno

98G. Where is homebase for you on weekends? Private message me if that is something you don't want out there. I know my son and I would love to get some hands on.

    Ownership Costs - Reality

I live outside of the city limits so I don't have any issues parking it here. The long term goal would be a shed/workshop big enough to house it and tools and whatever else I accumulate in life. The insurance idea is one I wouldn't have thought of. Great idea!

    Ownership Costs - Reality

Camper Clarification I should have clarified, I know these trucks can probably pull any camper out there. However, how hard is it to do? For example, my mini-van, I installed a factory produced tow-hitch and then just had to buy the insert with ball that "raised" it a bit because the tow-bar...

    Ownership Costs - Reality

Hello (again), I started looking at getting a 5 ton about a year ago. And for this reason and that, I never pulled the trigger. Now, I need help convincing my better-half that this would be a good buy for us. I have a few general questions and comments on my situation and wanted to hear...

General Question(s) Regarding Auctions for 5-Ton

So probably a dumb question, but can one just drive down and see these vehicles before auction? Do you have to schedule a time? Thankfully, Manhattan KS is a quick 1:45 from here and I actually have a few friends still living there.

General Question(s) Regarding Auctions for 5-Ton

Thank you, Jwade. When I go in and look at the individual reports, some are worse than others but some seem to have 3 stars on most everything, the engine starts (after a jump) and there are some with "no noticeable vapor". Again, it seems way to cheap. Thanks for your input.

General Question(s) Regarding Auctions for 5-Ton

Hello All, New to this site. As of yet, I don't own any vehicles. I did find a site, GovPlanet/IronPlanet that has vehicles rather close to me (90 miles or so). As I started looking, all of the auctions started at or around $2000. I did a search for completed Auctions and they all seemed...

    New member from Kansas

Greetings to everyone from Ottawa, Kansas. I have about a year or less to go over the pros/cons of owning SOMETHING (M923 or opened to suggestions) as a hunting rig and MAYBE a daily driver (I work 4 miles from home and there is a huge gravel parking lot at work). Danno
