    M1078/M1079 for overland camper?

That is sweet, I used the PLS's a bunch in the army, and it is a slick system, just way too bulky and big for this application. But that switch and go wouldn't be bad. Doesn't look like it adds too much height. Ryan

    M1078/M1079 for overland camper?

I had though of trying to MOD a shipping container to a hab, and then use the mounts the container hauling semi's use for mounting them to the trailers. The Twist locks. Then started looking around, and found these guys. http://www.blissmobil.com/en/products/15ft Pretty much the same...

Seriously looking at lmtv need input please

Has anybody looked into running a 22.5" rim with over the road semi truck tires? They would be a bit smaller diameter, but with taller gearing, would they potentially better (MPG, Noise, Tire Life, Tire cost...) if you were going to be pounding out some highway miles? Ryan

Do you guys have any idea what the Bed weighed? I am looking at different ideas for a Hab structure and was wondering how much weight could be added to the Hab by removing the bed. Ryan

Seriously looking at lmtv need input please

Yea i think we had a few of the newer ones, and a few of the older ones. Im not so concerned about the mileage, just wonder what to expect. I have read a few of the build threads, iso i have an idea, i just didnt see and real comparisons of the 3116 and the C7. Also, we would love to do a big...

Seriously looking at lmtv need input please

Ok, thanks. What kind of miles are you guys putting on them? What kind of money in servicing can one expect to dump into a "Running" one off of Gov Planet? I think the one I had was a 3116 Cat, sounds like the C7's are a better option. Are the Mods just easier on the C7, better MPG? Ryan

I also am looking at the LMTV's that are currently on the market. Seem to be quite a few under 10K that seem to run. I know "running" and good condition are very different. I live in Montana, and near mountains, and I lots of messing around on some friends ranches. Mountain roads dont get...
