Back Up again from GP auction?

Its all about greed!!!! I will never buy from them. I bought both my trucks on ebay for way less than GP starting bids, and I am totally happy with my purchases.

    M818 clutch stuck

Moisture and rust will cause a clutch to stick engaged. Depending on the transmission, sometimes the clutch pedal can be depressed, while a pry bar used thru the access plate can free the stuck clutches by prying away from the pressure plate.

    923a2 playing around

I used to live in Idaho as a kid, and visited British Columbia once, but never been to Alaska. Some day!

    923a2 playing around

I used to live near you a few years back (Maysville area). I would take my buggies out to the table top mountains or sometimes north west up to the Little Sahara.

New Mexico members check in here!

I'll keep you in mind come spring. There are a few back roads between you and I, and the one that seems to come out on your end, does so north/east of Chama. I'll trace it out again on google earth in the future so that I can be more specific. I still need to get my rig tagged and insured before...

New Mexico members check in here!

Yes, I traced out some roads on Google Earth trying to find a short cut to Chama, and found one, but there may be private property to cross, unsure. Might try it someday. This time of year, the rangers are unable to reach the mountain lakes.

Tres Piedras, next to San Antonio mountain.:shrugs: Might be nice to have a get together next summer here in the mountains at one of the local lakes! Do some fishing!

    923a2 playing around

Here is a pic of the truck trying out the speed bumps a couple months ago. We got some snow up here today so I may go out and make some tracks here shortly. I sure am happy with it, and truck just now rolled over 2000 miles on the OD since the 2008 As New restore. I purchased an 11 ft snow plow...

Pics of pulling and rebuilding transfer case of M923a2

The original private owner of the truck, purchased it shortly after the Kansas rebuild so it had only 1975 miles on it and was in like new condition, not even a scratch in the paint. He used it only to attract attention to his Army Surplus store in Las Vegas, NV. It was chained solidly from the...

Pics of pulling and rebuilding transfer case of M923a2

It was easier for me to remove 8 bolts and slide the bed back, than to drop the transfer case downward and lift it back up while crawling around underneath. I prefer standing when possible. Also, the mounting brackets on the 90 model are made like a saddle, so that you pull three bolts and lift...

Pics of pulling and rebuilding transfer case of M923a2

All is well, project completed. It took approximately 12 hours for two men to remove, disassemble, assemble, install. Drives well in high and low range. Very Happy! another blessing! God is great!!!!

Pics of pulling and rebuilding transfer case of M923a2

I think that in military terms it would be classified as a "General Pain", or a "Major Pain". Lol. But really its not to bad, having the right tools for the job makes a big difference, especially with a little help from my son who you see in the pics. It's a good feeling to be able to make...

Pics of pulling and rebuilding transfer case of M923a2

This is my first time to work on/repair a military vehicle, so thought I would post some pics of pulling and repairing the transfer case. If anyone knows where I can find diagrams or an assembly/disassembly guide, please let me know. Unbolted the bed and slid it back far enough to access the...

Yes, your right. What equipment/people can do, and what equipment/people should do, are not always the same. Using good judgment when completing a task is always wise, as "just because I can" will most likely, eventually backfire on you. Fortunately in my case, the guardian angel that protects...
