Troop Carrier Top: Does it roll up?

YES! Awesome. Thank you! Saved me an hour trip in the Humvee just see if it will work, lol.

Troop Carrier Top: Does it roll up?

Do troop carrier tops roll up on the side? Or, maybe I should phrase it... are they able too? I know the back flaps roll up and some how stay in place but I was curious about the sides. My Humvee came with the top but it immediately went to storage. I'm considering installing it if and only if I...

Fuel Tank Sock / Strainer Part Comparison

Directed at Retiredwarhorses… cleaning my tank now. My strainer rusted off. The question is, when replacing, does the strainer just slip on? Or, is there something we need to apply to make sure it does not come off? In other words do I just put it on or do I need to use an adhesive? Thanks in...

Humvee shock absorber and spring options?

I would have to say, yes. More so in the rear. I had to replace the rear CVs at one point bc the angle chewed up the upper joint.

Humvee shock absorber and spring options?

Don't mean to revive an old thread but I wanted to give my take on the American Humvee Springs just in case anyone else looked up something similar. I am quite certain I was one of the first sales outside of close friends and his own testing. I bought them back 2018. I was mainly interested in...

OHIO BMV Changed my Street Legal Title from Virginia to Off Road USE only

A bill was proposed and PASSED in December of 2018. It reads as follows... S.B. 331/H.B. 710 allows for the titling of HMMWV (HUMVEES) as “historical motor vehicles”. S.B. 331/H.B. 710 defines a HUMVEE as a high-mobility wheeled vehicle manufactured for military purposes. Overview: Legislation...

    Remove paint but leave CARC!

It can run... but what I did because l had so much to remove, I put the acetone in a bucket and used a scotch brite pad and would douse the painted areas. That way it would all run off. But mine is camo and not tan, so it may show some streaking? Test a small area first.

    Cooling fan freaking out?

All right here’s the update. Sorry for the delay. Follow the entire flow diagram in the maintenance manual. Everything checks out OK. That’s all systems. Fan switch, Cadillac valve, time delay module, continuity in the wiring harness and components, etc. Quick background, my fan comes on...

    HHMWV Fuel tank leak

This was the problem on mine as well. However, here's a little tip... Don't bother with a flat head screwdriver. They are too hard to work with in long, tight spaces. Use a wobble extension or universal drive with a 5/16 or 8mm socket. Much better confirmation of contact and applied torque...

    Cooling fan freaking out?

Got around to checking the rig out today. Started her up cold. Jiggled wires and harnesses. Nothing. Pulled the 2 prong connector to the cadillac valve and the fan spools up. Slows back down when connected. While still cold, I played with the throttle, holding steady at different RPMs. Sure...

    Cooling fan freaking out?

Ahh. Good point. I did happen to know the fail safe is full on, so it makes sense that possible a wire my be loose causing the fan to sporadically turn on and off. I'll check it out tonight and see what I can find. Thank you for your input.

    Cooling fan freaking out?

Hello everyone. My cooling fan has recently started freaking out. It just randomly comes on and off sporadically for no reason. My Humvee's cooling fan always came on once the temp gauge hit 200 degrees. Now, it will come on and off as soon as I starting driving down the road. Even with...

    Intermittent turn signals

Just in case you didn't know, the head lights have to be on for the turn signals to work. When I first got mine, I was like "WTF, they worked last night?" Then figured it out. However, with that said, mine are finicky, even when the headlights are turned on. I have to wiggle the switch until it...

    Remove paint but leave CARC!

Ahh. Gotcha. I can see the difference. It’s definitely not enough of a difference for me to be worried about it. Appreciate your follow up! I still haven’t painted the panel yet, lol. I took it off for the summer time. 😎

    Remove paint but leave CARC!

Thanks for your input. I haven’t gotten around to purchasing any paint yet but this will definitely be a consideration.

    Remove paint but leave CARC!

Guys, lol. I’m just trying to fix the one panel. There is absolutely no need to paint the entire vehicle. The paint is excellent. From all the research I have found on this site, if you use Rapco paint, once it dries spray wd40 on it and let it sit until it soaks and the flatness will match...
