    Sorry it has taken so long for the follow up … I replaced the float switches in the tank and that seems to have fixed the problem… easier said than done, took lots of jiggling and figuring to get it out and back in but I finally got it … almost thought I had the wrong part as the mounting screws...

    My 803 has been working fine since major engine work couple years ago (bent push rod) ... has run the whole ranch a few times ... was testing yesterday and during cool down it shut off with the “no fuel” light on ... gauge read 3/4 tank, I topped off the tank good clean fuel... now starts fine...

    Advice on alternate sources for parts? I can find gaskets but nothing yet for rocker arm, push rod etc. local Onan parts dealer wants a serial number that is one letter and 4 or 5 numbers? Sorry, silly questions but the easier i can make this for my mechanic the better off I’ll be ... thanks.

    OK it took me a long time to get back to this ... along the way we drained and cleaned the fuel tank, changed all the fuel filters etc., ran diesel purge thru the system, still running rough to me so i punted to my mechanic ... he pulled the injectors and had them tested, they checked out ok so...

    Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I will try them in order starting with fuel filters, temp the cylinders etc. the machine IS very low hour and super clean, could eat off all surfaces and no sign of soot or gunk anywhere before I started ... actually had not been drained before I bought...
