Lucky Man
Yeah? Well I'm tired of playing housefrau! I just might pop over for a visit. I am lion...HEAR ME ROAR!! Of course I'll have to clear it with the wife. It'll be a while before I have an answer as I'll have to wait for her to stop laughing. She has a weird sense of humor.
Cheers,
Gary...
Thanks Gents!
Cold Warrior, (or should I call you Lucky?) read about your acquisition of the Ark. Re: The Beverly Hillbillies.... I'd like to think I loaded her a little tighter then the Clampetts.
I see only a passing resemblance ; 0)
Oh, that moving....
Thanks! Moved from Northern California (where gold was discovered in the 1800s). My wife and 18 year old daughter are in London now. Have been for a little over a month. My daughter is doing some modeling for Herrods. Small world.
Edit: Sorry dmetalmiki, now I get you. The...
Thanks KC!
That's (almost) exactly how I did it and it fired right up. I omitted the slave cable hookups for now. Don't have the jump cable or another M939 to plug into. She runs like a Swiss watch ; 0)
I knew I'd find out what wow signified if I said that. Good deal on the side rack possibilities. I'd definitely like to check them out. I'll PM 98G. My boy's Army, stationed in Colorado Springs. I 'll travel if it will do any good. Let's see what 98G has to say. I'm assuming he's from Arizona...
OK,
I've got tandem duals (or dual tandems) on the rear. I'm just the base M923. Although someone thought it was pretty impressive when it was made. The dash plate calls it an M923 WOW!
Ford, thanks as always. See attachment. It almost makes everything clear.
What I referred to as side slats are...
Gents,
I have the M923 cargo/troop carrier and I want to get the stake, bow and cover kit, but first, I've noticed the kits for sale have the stakes bows and connecting hardware, but no side slats. I've also noticed, in the op manual, that the cover appears to seat on top of side slats (the...
TwistedOaks,
THAT is a thing of beauty! I would go so far as to say elegant.
Very nice work. Great minds (you and Ford) think alike. A spare 24 volt vehicle? I don't even have the jumper cable.
Gary
Yeah, but then you don't get to hoist the monsters up into the cab, over the sheet metal box frame while simultaneously keeping the cables at bay!
Your solution is brilliant. Are the stock cables long enough to get them to the tackle box? Nevermind! Don't want to know. The monsters are resting...

I screwed up and started a new thread (this one) when the old one:http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?t=104922&goto=newpost was apparently alive and well. Suggest you consolidate the two so all valuable info in one place. Sorry about that.
Gary
Holy CRAP! The light comes on! I was terrified of running a conflict thinking I was dealing with two separate voltage systems coming out of the box! Knowing the slave cables have that single purpose just took a load off pal.
Thanks again!
Gary
Jbulach,
Yep, I was worried about clearance between the battery terminals and seat underside so I got low profile batteries (NAPA Part # 7251 @ 7 15/16 H)
Thanks for the heads up.
Gary
Sorry to appear dense KC, but I have two cables from the slave and two from the truck. Do the slave cables only serve jump assist or are they also part of the 24V system? Is truck ground slave cable or truck cable negative? Is starter slave or truck positive?
