But... overall I agree with Marcus. I'd personally drop in a high power gasser and get your $s worth... and alot of burnouts, donuts and fun.

Comparatively speaking to most any other diesel platform during its era (and even now), in its same class, it's far cheaper to get similar if not better power and efficiency over even some modern engines. My 6.5 makes more power on the dyno than my brand new 2015 lml. I'll beit, it's highly...

"6.2 in our CUCVs might be the weakest diesel in modern times. Weak in terms of power, and weak in terms of longevity. It was designed to be economical, and it does that job, but it's no powerhouse and there are plenty of diesels out there that have a much longer expected lifespan." Add a turbo...

"Anything is possible with enough money and time, but why would you want to"? ..exactly... Why not drop a bad@$$ high power gasser in it? Sbc or bbc?? You'll spend far less $$$ doing a high power gasser vs trying to get the power youd 'want' out of a 6.x

To turbo or not to turbo 6.2 Diesel?

Yea when you go from n/a to forced induction there's a bit to consider... you may need to adjust several things including your timing. Your fuel delivery for one. More air means more fuel otherwise you'll be running lean which is basically diesel death. I also noticed someone else mention it...

Overcharging after alternator rebuild and new belts?

driver side generator at idle should read 14v pass side should read 14v @ ground / 12v post AND 26v @ 24v post... all while running @ idle

Overcharging after alternator rebuild and new belts?

putting meter to batteries does not test alternator / generator charging. bypass batteries, meter each gen individually. youll get actual charge rates. read amps and voltage. 27si should output 80-100 amps depending on stock or remanned with some mods. both are 12v gens. to check 24v check pass...

    Is my M1009 24V or 12V?

yes by looking @ your piks a bit closer... it looks to still be 12/24v. you can also test by taking volt meter to TOP junction block and testing it. it should be 24v. the bottom JB is common ground. you can tell by looking at the GlowPlug resistor block. it should be connected to top JB, which...

    Is my M1009 24V or 12V?

1)use a multimeter / voltmeter 2)there should be two thick red wires (8-10 gauge) on the post terminals on the passenger side (24v) gen. the post terminal with an extra red wire thats around a 12 gauge wire is the 24v post. the other red wire thats 8-10 gauge is the ground terminal / 12v...

Overcharging after alternator rebuild and new belts?

it should be reading the charge rate of the 24v gen. did you replace (or inspect, clean and reman) the shaft brush assembly when doing the rebuild? on the 24v side its what supplies the 12v from gen1 to the ground on gen2 which creates the 24v system. the shaft brush is one of those easy to...
