    Yes, just thinking relative to what what the engine CAN make. most likely will be below 300, think 250-300.

    I won't have big hp,the engine will remain as is until/if it gives trouble then will swap to an 8.3 and it will likely be around 300hp.

    imagine those gears running through a low range set, heading into unimog gearing territory! I don't see pursuing this idea as a realitity due to the fact the 7th gear is actually in the tcase,2 steps forward 1 step back.....

    Oh,ok. I am not on FB so how can I get ahold of you and get pricing ? I wonder about the center sections? Can they be swapped into the FMTV axle housings? I really like the idea of selectable lockers! And hubs!

    Spring perches and drive shafts( assuming the ujoints are the same size?) are an easy fix,steering arm not so much.

    I am hoping the axletech axles work out,discs and airlockers??? Would be a huge improvement over drums and open diffs!!

    A selectable reduction box is the same as a low range, the difference between the design used on these trucks is that first is a very low gear used for really ruff stuff and once you leave first you lose that gearing advantage , a low range divides all gears.

    steve6x6x6 could you help me, I am a wee bit ignorant regarding axles on these truck. Why not just pick up a pair of axletech 4000 and bolt them in? Having said that, locker in the rear and hubs.....yaaaaa!

    Personally I love the Allison, wish we could have 2wd and low range but whats a guy to do? Imagine the fuel savings if you could run it in 2wd?? And hubs??? I know it's just not practical during confict to ask for a time out while you get out and lock your hubs lol. My thoughts at this point...

I believe every vehicle has it's weakness's , rock crawler may do well in very rough terrain ( unimog) but not cruise highways at 60-65 all day.
