Sorry for the delayed reply. The housing was part of the core when I purchased it. It was an all-in-one unit. As of late, I have seen slight variations in the box design being offered. You’ll just have to search for the correct one that i used. Unfortunately, they all have the same exact part...
yes that’s it. I have the pillars the mid pillar’s cross bar, and the pivot brackets for the pillars. The top and rear curtain is tan and both brand new.
I have a tan complete cover kit new in the packaging. I also have a complete frame and mounting brackets if you need. I’m never going to use it. Hit me up if you’re interested.
Hey guys, I have another question. I’m upgrading my older M998 fuel tank. It has served me well but there’re are a few things wrong with it and some things forcing me to upgrade. I need to know if an A2 tank will fit an M998 with a 3 speed, a 218 transfer, but has the update e-brakes on the rear...
Ooo... just found this over at G503. Its a mod to the tach I have which would give me a light. Apparently, this tach has a provision for a light. Inside the housing is a light tunnel socket. Looks like all you would need to do is cut a hole in the back of the tach to match up with the tunnel. Of...
not sure if my last post tagged you or not. Sorry again for not originally including a link to the post I was searching. It’s an interesting read. There were a couple things he did that got me thinking about how I want to tackle my VIC setup but also my truck’s bed. Here’s that link again...
Oh snap. Sorry bro. I never even though about that. Here’s the link. I was interested in flooring my bed but realized this gent’s truck is a slant back. I’m not sure how tunnel material on an open bed would handle the elements. I was also interested in the water jet cut parts he did for his VIC...
Anyone, to your knowledge, mod these for a light? I doubt it be too difficult. I’m wondering if I just run a + lead off the instrument cluster lights to a Led (My truck is all LEDs) up at the tach, if that should be ok.
It only took a gazillion hours but I tracked down the thread. Turns out... it was over at the g503 forum. Lol Not being able to locate that thread, was like an itch I couldn’t scratch. Lol
Hey guys. A couple days ago I saw a thread where a M998 owner had did a upgrade conversion to an A1? Something like that. Anyway, what caught my eye was he lined the bed of the truck with green insulation board like the tunnel insulation board. He showed fasteners he used as well as the hold...
Thanks bro, I agree that certain states this upgrade would be overkill for sure. I think the northern states will benefit from this as it gets pretty nippy. We drive up to Michigan from time to time and the last time we were there... the average temp during our stay was 10 degrees F. It was...
Let me reiterate my comment. If his intent is to drive in a parade at parade speeds with the fan running constant with IL’s current temps, he should have no issues. If he’s doing highway speeds (lets say 55 for sake of argument) in IL with a stuck open thermostat and fan running constantly with...
We pulled the plug on the time delay overseas when I was in the military so the fan ran all the time. You’ll be totally fine running it that way. It’s like a fail safe. If that module goes bad, it makes sure the fan runs.
And this should be the final post to wrap up the install. Next you need to install the electrical side of things. This post will only support the main video so please make sure to watch it. First thing you'll need to do is grab your hot and ground. I did this by hooking up a "Y" fitting. I ran...
I guess the first part of the job would be to drain enough coolant out of engine so you can remove the existing factory heater core. I explain in the main video where the drain plug is and how to properly draing enough of the system prior to removing the core. In the following pics, you can see...
The next thing I would like to touch base on is this tool by DMC. It is a vital tool if you are doing electrical work on these trucks. Having properly made connections are not only safe but give you a good seal to protect against the elements. The tool is not cheap but you can find them on ebay...
