1953 M37 3/4 ton Dodge Truck

Say is there a way to polorize the generator to see if it is charging, like connect a wire to the voltage regulator somehow? without taking out the generator to have it bench tested? I bought a new Voltage regulator for the M37 but has not come in the mail yet.

After further inspection of the under carriage it appears that their was never a pivot bracket to begin with, meaning no signs of screw holes for a bracket on the back to be mounted.

That's what I'm thinking, are there parts to replace it? but that means I have to try to bust the weld on the plate they welded in the floor board the PTO lever lines up with that welded plate. so where can I get the pin that goes in the lower PTO bar that hooks into the pivot bar? p
