I considered that, but read from a "random internet expert" that it would be a bad idea to run a winch off of one battery. Too much pull and imbalance they suggested. Thoughts? I appreciate your help :)

so did you do it? i want to do the same thing for a 12v winch. I was planning to go to the 24v ground and run a 6 gauge wire to the 14v post of the dual regulator. Hoping that will keep it all charged and good to go. Thanks!

Well I finally had the hubs rebuilt - looks like the bearings were slightly damaged. With the new spindle bearings and little adjustment on the drive bearing load they match the others in temperature. Note: Lucas Gear Oil is horribly difficult to wash out of hubs. I sweat that stuff must...

Both races felt fine. No visible damage to them or the bearings. The numbers still showed and all.

Update: my torque wrench was off calibration, so I probably ran it 75 miles over torqued. Re-serviced and torqued to low end, and even only 18# when it still heats up. After 22 miles left side hubs are 90-95 degrees. Right side hubs are 110-120 degrees (77 ambient). Running Lucas hub oil...
