Help diagnosing failure to crank or stay running

Need help guys. My 1043 stalled out while sitting at a red light yesterday. I got it to crank back after trying for a few minutes. Today I got it to crank in a garage and it stayed running for about 30 seconds and did the same thing. Fuel is at 1/2 tank. So I went looking for electrical...

    Made an over head console

Almost there, I did the rough install this evening. I’m having a few issues getting the main power wires from the battery though. I tried to take the wire around the windshield and down the B-Pillar, but it sticks out quite a bit since it has to go around the seat belt module

    Made an over head console

it's all good thanks for the "heads up" (lol see what I did there). It's going to be central mounted. It will drop down, but not quite the width of the windshield frame. Think overhead console location with reading lights. 3 1/8 x 18 x 3 7/8

    Made an over head console

I’ll have pictures up soon. I’ve had to wait for the toggle switches. I ordered them from amazon, I should have looked to see that they were shipping from China It is made out of aluminum except for the latches I’m putting on the sides for access.

    Gray carc?

Is there a gray carc? I think I’ve talked myself out of 383 green, and want a dark battleship gray. What is a paint line I can use that will spray over the carc after sanding and prep? I tried to post this question earlier and it didn’t post.

    Made an over head console

I couldn’t find a console I liked so I fab something up in the shop and 3D printed a few switch plates. It need a lot of finish work but the overall layout is compact while allowing enough room for wiring, and some cabin lights. My next step is to fab up a bracket to hold my rear view camera.

    lost my nut, lol

I'm hoping someone on here might answer my question of the day. Does anyone have a size on the 10" bolt for the alternator bracket? Unfortunately, mine decided to disappear during an outing tonight which caused it to drop the 1/8 inch into my fuel line and cut it in half. On the positive...

    Light switch repair

I’m one that likes to see if it can be repaired before I jump on buying new. Someone messing around with my switch didn’t know to unlock first. Now the light switch does not engage. Has anyone ever repaired theirs? Or just spend the $75 and order from fleabay.

Options for removing Red dot AC

Thank you for that offer tobash. Black Dog customs had a kit that wasn’t much more than a replacement belt. If you know if anyone that might be needing a Red Dot, I’m going to sell this one cheap. I really don’t want to box this thing up and put it on shelf if someone could use it. I’m...

Options for removing Red dot AC

I Have the new engine in and now just working on the fit and finish to get her ready to crank. My original engine had the AC compressor and Belt to match. I do not want to put the red dot back on since I will be driving with no/cage doors most of the time. I've read that there is a kit for...

    Had to tear it down!!

The backstory is the simplest. Intake mushroom cap was removed and the truck sat from 2012 to last month, open to collect water. The water filled up and crossed over the air horn and down the intake. The good thing is I like a challenge, the bad thing is I run out of band-aids and curse...

    Had to tear it down!!

Don't know if anyone has seen worse, but here was my find today. Some of the pictures are after I shopvac'ed the cylinders... That is two words I never thought I would say in the same sentence. Now for the soak and hope it breaks free.

    Starter options?

This will also be my weekly update. Thank you all for the support. I was able to get the fuel tank and lines all back in place. But it looks like Murphy's law is still around for a little longer. I cracked the screw on the filter to get ready to bleed and got a "clunk" after 5-6 tries I was...

Removing fuel tank; what am I doing wrong?

Thank you Tobash! I was actually planning on taking the ac out or trying to relocate to a ceiling mount. It's really in the way, being right in the middle of the bed area. Lol I rigged up a CPU fan and put it inside the tank to circulate air, worked like a charm. I'm going to have to read...

Removing fuel tank; what am I doing wrong?

The part I was trying to figure out is just the rollover valve. If anyone else is reading this try to drop the tank down a few inches and disconnect the valve carefully. Just watch out, the barb to the valve gets brittle while being stored in the elements. Someone else can chime in on a part...

Removing fuel tank; what am I doing wrong?

Well, I got it out!!!!!!! Wound up being two factors holding it in place. Someone had mounted the red dot ac unit to the bed area and had used self-tapping screws that actually hit the tank. The second issue was the retaining bracket was making it a little too snug and once i removed the...
