I’m using “rifle sling adapters” with metal d-rings for the time being, just an idea. I can release the Velcro and tension strap when I want to remove them. Only issue is they tend to slide after a couple hits (hence the zip ties).
Just had a floating roof rack design finished up. I figured I would post a few pics in case anyone was looking for ideas.
I plan on mounting lighting, as well as a retractable awning, water storage, etc. For now, it’s mounted to the mirror bolts, and rear fenders behind the factory c pillar...
When I lifted my truck, I replaced all the ball joints out of convenience since the hubs were off at the time. But it doesn’t appear it was necessary and I used factory replacement parts, no different geometry. 2” changes the angles slightly, but I have a few thousand miles on them after the...
Maxxis RZR MT 40x13.50r17 on 17x9 Raceline Rockcrushers 0 offset (5” backspace). Barely sticks out of the body/ wheel well. Truck has about 2” of lift all around.
I support this idea. Looking over the kit, the price is pretty consistent with the cost of putting a turbo on something that doesn’t have one. Also, love the idea of mechanical-no electrical work and that there is no modification needed. I may also have to go this route
This now makes sense, thanks. What kind of springs did you use in the rear to fix the sag? I assume if the snow plow springs were installed in front, and also in the rear, the rear would actually sit lower now
Yeah, I get that. Maybe mine is a fluke, or maybe I’m just weird. I know most people are looking for the “level” suspension but I like the raked look of the original Hmmwv. Plus, it’s in the process of 4-man conversion and I do tow with it so I thought higher spring rate would be good. I don’t...
Ahhhh ok, now I’m totally confused haha. I guess I’ll now have to figure out what front springs I’ve got and do some experimenting to find the combination that gets me where I want. I didn’t realize front plow springs were used in rear applications. The 1,700 rate seemed to be a little low for a...
I have checked several resources and all have listed the -2 springs as Front springs, not for rear. I do realize the truck will likely ride pretty darn rough with -3 springs but honestly I’m not climbing Everest. It’s mostly driven on street and beach. Here are some numbers I’ve seen
Well, I’m gonna resurrect this old post because I believe I have discovered the answer to my problem. I was finally able to find the serial number on my rear springs, and wouldn’t ya know they are 12338316-2. Yeah, pretty sure they are FRONT snow plow springs. Now the question is, does anyone...
Midwest Military Eqpt. has a set of springs on the website listed as “leveling springs”. They offer front only kits or a full kit with all four springs. Says that they are 30% lighter spring rate than factory and give about 1.5” of lift too. I was interested in the same thing and will likely be...
Yeah thankyou, I am pretty
Positive that the pass. Rear spring is tired due to the bumper and main weight from tire carrier being primarily balanced on that side. Everything else looks pretty solid and without wear or tear. Just wondering about what rear spring options there are and what those...
It's a 1992 m998 with gep 6.5 upgrade. Airlift rear bumper with rhino spare tire carrier. Bare two door standard other than that. Can't figure out how to post pictures from my phone so I will later on.
Hello all,
Now I have searched high and low and found a lot of good information on suspension, BUT it's almost always exclusively in regards to FRONT suspension and spring sag or leveling options. My issue is that my rear (specifically passenger side) seems to sag a little bit. Nothing major...
I had to "persuade" them a bit. But they did eventually go in fine. There's a little give to the back cushion on these seats you just have to give it some wear-in. Now that they are in, they don't impede my seat belts at all. But then again, there may be some manufacturing differences from one...
Greetings all,
So while I was relaxing under my hmmwv yesterday, installing a grounding harness, I noticed a thick black silicone-like substance covering all electrical connections on the starter. Now, I assume this is a measure taken to waterproof the connections and I would like to replace it...
