Just wasn't sure if there was something in the clutch housing/back of block that would rear its ugly face.
Pretty much like house plumbing... if there's a puddle in the basement, start at the top floor, lol.
Well, don't really know what to make of this...
I suddenly have a small amount of coolant that has appeared on the ground and looks like it came from the fording hole.
I can see drips of coolant from the hole.
Any ideas?
I really hope my first MV hasn't turned into a nightmare...
thanks all
There were extra parts included with the purchase of the deuce.
Problem is, some of them are just in baggies with no description/part #.
Can anyone tell me what I have here please.

This I'm assuming is for winter use on the truck...
And, I have no idea what this platform is for...
That's exactly what happened once I pulled into the drive at home (after a 3 hour trip on the interstate). Thing made a small puddle in the driveway about 6" in diameter then stopped.
Moving it around yesterday to get it in the barn shown no signs of loss like that.
Did you just spray brake...
I'm no body man but, my thought would be to remove the lower section and butt weld a new piece of material.
Unless you're not looking for a restored kind of fix?
After a lot of viewing at potentials, I picked up an A2C.
Drove it 175 miles home with no issues except it'll probably need a new rear main seal and clutch over haul while it's open.
She was dripping pretty good when I got it home.
Okay... friend of mine informed me that it's a ISL9 380 (283) Cummins motor.
But, anyone heard of them being fitted into M809's?
Like what was done to make M35A3's but, this motor and still 5 speeds?
Anyone heard of the gov taking M809 series trucks and over hauling them and replacing the engines with a 283 cummins?
I just can't find anything out there about that.
Okay, so I have 5 separate PDF TM's for the M939 series trucks and I'm trying to find where it covers changing the fuel filter.
Is it as easy as taking the old one off and putting a new one on or, are there other steps that need to be followed?
If anyone can, please point me to the correct...
What would be items that I should pay attention for when reviewing this M923A2 for possible purchase?
Basically, what are the red flags to watch for?
If there is a post already here on SS, please point me to it.
The truck does show 29,000 miles but, I understand that can be false more less...
M923A2 engine fan question
In my quest to find that first truck, I've come across a M923A2. The seller sent a video of it running and I noticed the fan was not moving. Do these have an electronic clutch that engages when the temp hits a certain number?
Passed on the M818 I had previously...
Thanks for the above info.
She's good with it... just making sure that if my choice is an M818, I won't be looking to the far dark corners of the earth for "simple" parts.
No problems there!! We don't have any neighbors... well, nobody on top of us anyways. Live on 35 wooded acres, pole barn etc so, I don't think anybody will care.
Just to drive overall and maybe bob it one day. I would hate to ruin a super nice truck by cutting it down.
The one I found has had the fifth wheel plate taken off already and was retrofitted with a spray tank (which is gone now).
Opportunity to get a M818 at a reasonable price.
My question would be, as a first truck for myself, would this be to much of a burden as a first truck to get into?
It runs and drives, state title... etc but, needs some TLC.
I know the M939 series are the newer but, was wondering if...
