Did someone in VT just acquire a MTVR?

I saw a MK23 or 25 on a commercial hauler two days ago here in Vermont. It was a complete truck with doors. Could have been being transported by civilian, but just curious if someone bought one locally as it was clearly marked as USMC and we don't have a base dedicated to the USMC here. Lou

    M1070 dump truck conversion

I may have just negated the need for this. I purchased a komatsu CD60R crawler dumper. Basically an excavator undercarriage with a dump truck body. I still like the idea of it though.

    New to me Gen’s

What do you do with all of these gen sets? I'm envious of your fleet!

    M1070 dump truck conversion

How is your project going? I have a M929A2 but thinking I'd like to sell it and get/build something a little heavier. Been looking at 7 tons but wondering if your idea of converting the M1070 would be better.

Delemma - need input re: tires for M929A2 - govplanet shipped wrong size

Wes, They sent me three Michelin 16.00R20 XZL. Tread ranges from 0.75-1". Looks like they are probably going to end up giving me those tires and crediting me completely for the 395's that I purchased. I can probably put the 395's on the classifieds and meet up with someone here in New England...

Delemma - need input re: tires for M929A2 - govplanet shipped wrong size

So, what do you think? Tune the motor and run 16's and shift between high and low to reverse? I won't lie, the extra ground clearance would be nice. My company sells digital indicators and thermocouples. I probably could find enough "junk" parts lying around to install a temperature...

Delemma - need input re: tires for M929A2 - govplanet shipped wrong size

Two opposite opinions there. If only they had built this with a transmission that could handle low in reverse. I've been reading up on changing the tune on the truck as well. I've been running loaded in high gear off road on my property most of the time as I always have to go in reverse at...

Delemma - need input re: tires for M929A2 - govplanet shipped wrong size

Seems as if I'm collecting every size tire out there for my M929A2, and not on purpose. Currently has 5 sort of ok tread 14.00R20 on the truck. Bought four 395/85R20 locally two were practically new, the others turned out to be 60% or so. So, I purchased 4 more at auction and when my pallet...

    Torque Rod End failure

Well, you know that feeling when you finish a job and are excited to try it out? It was great for 6 loads, then there was a sound from the rear end and the truck stopped backing up. Another torque rod end fell apart and the axle rotated a little. Hopefully just the torque rod end (which I had...

Good Deal on tires for M929? 395/85r20 Goodyear

Well, if we lived closer I'd say find me some of those At3 tires that Simp mentioned and we work out a deal!

Good Deal on tires for M929? 395/85r20 Goodyear

Will definitely buy them. Not a lot of opportunity here in Vt to pick up surplus anything. I am using the truck off road on my property. I go from clay in the field to broken ledge rocks where I'm dumping the clay. Trying to keep the "road" clear of rocks sticking up so I don't ruin a tire...

Good Deal on tires for M929? 395/85r20 Goodyear

Currently have very worn out 14x20's on my truck. A local mudder picked up a truck with 95%+ tread 395/85r20 Goodyears and I can buy all 4 for $600. Anything that I need to watch out for other than weather cracking? Will these be better or worse in clay than the really open tread that is on...

    Torque Rod End failure

and also the 55 ton excavator. Just need to find bigger cables to pull the truck out when I bury it. Can't believe that it doesn't have lockers. I never thought to check that when I bought it. Definitely didn't expect to get stuck in an open field. Anyone purchase torque rod ends from...

    Torque Rod End failure

Thanks Doghead. Any tips on how to get that dogbone back on the bushing? Looks like I have to remove one of the four large bolts holding the bushing mounting in place in order for the dogbone to clear. There was enough force originally for it to push past it, but doesn't want to go back...

    Torque Rod End failure

Hi Guys, I think that I've read every thread on replacing torque rod ends and understand what tools I need and how to do it, but my question is do I NEED to do it. I have a M929A2 that I use 99% of the time on my property for some serious landscaping (think moving loads of boulders and fill...
