I'm not familiar with a designation of M201, but my truck is a M56B1 and is a Contact Maintenance Truck with the Generator/Welder mounted in a aluminum box body. My understanding is that this is the basic M37 with an extended frame, as also used in the ambulance version. I "think" this frame...

Glad the M37's were saved. They are in good hands with PapaBear. The trucks will probably wind up with OD paint but has anyone ever thought about restoring one to fire department condition. The tanker conversion looks good.

What was the intended purpose of having the angled raised roof/top portion? Headroom for personnel moving about inside? Angled mounting for foam nozzles? I have looked at all the pictures posted or linked and only found one photo of an original that appeared to have a mounted nozzle yet...

I previously owned a 1952 M37 ex-Air Force that was blue. So it appears that each brach of the service had them in the official service colors.

I sure would like to know if some mv caring person was able to get this truck. I agree that it must be a V41 as I have a M56B1 and this truck is not a contact maintenance truck. All the parts of the truck except for the box should be the same as the M37. And the frame is slightly extended in...
