    Gear hub input seal

Gonna change out input seal in geared hub . Two questions can I use seal for hummer h1 purchased from any local automotive store? If so does anyone know the part number? I own a 1985 m998 1038. Also can you remove and replace seal without detatching hub ?

    Spindle nut

Just recently checked spindle nut on my 85 998 1038 . It has the old 4 slot spindle nut. Tab is secure and holds just fine. My question is should I upgrade to 8 slot nut ? If so can I just replace the nut itself or do I need to replace washers and spindle nut washers as well ?

    Tone rings

Hey all , I own a 1985 998 1038 . I was thinking of upgrading all four half shafts. I saw a new 10 k set on e-bay but they stress “tone rings” not included. Do I need the tone rings ? I’m thinking they may just be for civilian h1 models. Anyone know? thanks.
