    No start M1008... won't crank & burned 2 fusible links??!! - w/ pics

For the lazy ones, he needs to use the "S" terminal. Sorry for being so lazy. I was just acting on instinct. Rarely do I just open a book to find the answer. Unless it's the Bible. I will try harder in the future. But in the end the wire does go on the inside terminal closest to the engine. Why...

I know I use an 11/32" mini nut driver and I am 99.99/10% sure it goes on the inside 8/32" stud closest to engine terminal. It is the first wire I put on as the starter is just laying up in there then I put the positive cable on and clock it with ears properly seated and tighten that big nut. I...

I think the wire should go on the other small post of the starter. I always put it on the one that is closest to the engine. Please try that connection closest to the engine before you return the starter. I think that will work. I only replaced 100+ starters and I am not dreaming. Even though it...

I don't think you can ever have enough of good grounds from the frame to the body, engine to the frame and the some good clean grounding points with some star washers on each headlamp and the tail lamps always helps. These are getting old and the ground connections are getting a little corroded...

You should have a heavy black ground cable from the - buss bar to the block on the right side rear intake nanifold stud. 2/0 would be good. I run a grond from the front intake stud on the right to the frame also 2/0 cable. Check it out. Grounds under dash above ebrake pedal. I don't think that...

I would tend to use an overkill on the wire gauge of the maxi fuse holder and then monitor the load by the size fuse I would install. I am not an engineer or and electrician but I have installed maxi fuses in the place of the fusable links. The maxi fuse holder I used had heavy 8 Gauge wire and...

If I had known I would have sent you some of the fusable link wire also. Maybe now is the time to put in a Maxi Fuse and eliminate the burning wire option. I never done it but it would work. Anyone am I correct about it doing the same thing? And it is easier to replace a fuse then cut the wire...

I dropped one of the direct drive starter support brackets in the mail for you today. I also sent you the bolt and the nut for you to install it. I did get the correct size bolt for you but it has a 12mm drive head instead of a 13mm. Everything else is correct and ready to go. Good luck with...

Sir there is nothing special about your CUCV starter. Other then it being 24 volt. We have a Mennonite fella nearby that does all our rebuilding for us. I have been using him for years as does the local ANG base Fort Indiantown Gap. He can still rebuild that starter. It will just require a...
