M1009- from forgotten to restored, my story

Hey make a floor support out of 3/16" 2 x 2 angle. It will be stronger and last longer then what was the OEM floor support. Put a couple in. Make it extra strong. The seat area was never that strong. Make it as strong as you like. Now is the time to add the supports. Cut and grind them to fit...

You will get better weld adhesion from a top plug weld that is on the flange of the support brackets. Verses over head welding on the edges. I would rather weld on the flat verses overhead anytime. Wear ear plugs unless you like red hot sparks cooking out your ear drums and burnt into your ear...

Question. Don't they make that center part of the floor?

M1009- from forgotten to restored, my story

I had mine sprayed all the way inside up to the roof line. I had the decals all taped off and the gate done inside and out to the ridge reinforcement. Made a world of difference. I did wheels once . Never again. They never looked clean. Hard to wash unless you used the pressure washer every time.

My opinion again. After the floor is all fixed and seam sealed get it sprayed with Line X. It does an excellent job at sealing and sound proofing and it don't matter what water leaks you have. It just dries up. I had most of mine sprayed in black and 1 in tan. The tan is nice and bright. Looks...

Rebuilding inner gate threshold , floor and rear bumper pintle hook area. This is not in order but it gives you an idea on rebuilding the rear threshold and getting that problem rust area reinforced and rebuilt. It was a time consuming job. The gate opens and closes much nicer that the rear...

M1009- from forgotten to restored, my story

Not all that bad. I would make the floors from sheet steel. And buy a set of replacement rockers. I made patterns for the side panels where the seat belts anchor. Cut all that out and welded a nut on the back of my replacement panel. I used the 2 - 5/16" bolts that are there also. Fixed it real...

M1009- from forgotten to restored, my story

I tend to over build when I repair things. But some pictures would be nice. I have been using 12 gauge galvaneal sheet steel to do the floor repairs on the ones that I work on. I cut the rust out and clean the good edges of the floor. I measure and shear pieces and add bends to make them fit...
