    Is this a vacuum test port?

    With .456 gears, it really doesn't matter if it goes straight from first to third. My valve was bad so I by-passed it. If you need to accelerate faster, you can shift it into second manually. I think I have done that twice. I really don't notice much difference in acceleration manually...
