Another not starting post.
Sir you need to loosen the cap on the nozzles. It is a 19mm/3/4" wrench. Just crack them open a bit no need to take them off. Crank the engine until the nozzle caps appear wet. Tighten them back up and attempt to fire it up. I have run a few out of fuel I usually just crank them 30 seconds wait... -

That would probably be the best bet for you. It would save your sanity and get the job done. You will be a lot happier driving it when it runs. Then working on it and not getting anywhere. Good Luck. i hope everything works out for you. -

You don't know how many of these CUCV trucks I have seen and fixed . People buy them and then do all this changing and cutting before they even get them started. It is a shame that they are normally easy to work on and they seem infallible when they are kept as designed. Normally it is a minor... -

I can not see that the plug on the fuel filter base has any correlation to the wait light. I never heard of that one. -

The batteries will work. But you still need glow plugs that work to get that truck fired up. I glow mine when it is 90 degrees out. It always cycles the glow plugs the first start up of the day. After that they are not needed. Unless it sits again for a length of time that the sensor signals the... -

That would be a great place to start. Read the CUCV notes about the glow plug system.
