I find that the historic tag works for me never been stopped or ticketed really ecconomical and since I only use if for fun and not too often at that having it historic works fine. I have even used the M969 to haul huge logs out of the woods to the sawyer with the duece and never had an issue...

I would still try to get it registered as an classic vehicle. Mine is in Maryland and my registration is $58 for two years and insurance it $172 a year but I have a multi car good driver discount.
