No matter what gearing you have, it may lower the noise level and lower the engine rpms, but it will still ride like a 30yr old 1 ton truck.
welpro222, you speak the truth. BUT, I enjoy riding around in a 30 year old 1 ton truck. and with
800-900 lbs in the bed, they ride like a Caddy
Actually I prefer 55-60 but I had the injector pump rebuilt a little while ago,
and now I keep looking down and it's doing 65. I got on the 4 lane a few times
and it says 70 before i backed it off. I'm a little more careful now:driver:
M1008, 285/75/16 tires. Usually 55 but I have a
short stretch of 4 lane highway I go 65, maybe a mile.
It seems to run right along nicely. If I have a load
or pulling the trailer (M101A3) it's just 55. Heavy loads
are 45 max, I only have to make it there. Doesn't
matter when.
