The stock bumper is like tin foil compared to these. They are made like a triangle shape tube. The front is on a 45° angle. Top is 1/2", front is 3/8" and the back is 3/4". There are four 3/8" thick bulkheads welded inside for reinforcement.
I gotcha. Some of that was for SLOrazorsedge. He had inquired about details for mounting the bumper. I'll also include the bracket measurements and specifics though.
You can run the NSN through Parttarget to get some specifications. It can be hit or miss though. Some parts will have nothing and...
Most things I build were only meant to be deciphered by my mind. When I try to "put them to paper" they suddenly seem crazy or impossible. I put down the paper a long time ago, lol.
Have no fear though. Most everything I used was already there. I don't have a torch, plasma, water jet or any...
Sorry for the late response. Been doing the vacation thing.
Just drop your truck off down here and I'll get it all mounted for you. I find it hard to believe that was the only mount that was released. That was the only one the seller had though, and the only one I've seen for sale period...
Above is a quote from earlier in the thread to reference some parts I was looking for.
One of the things I have yet to do on the bumper was to mount a fairlead directly to it. With the winch so far back, pulling anything from a lower point than the bumper will obviously cause the cable to...
So, there was a miscalculation during all this planning prior to mounting the bumper. I went ahead and mounted the boxes with the old bumper in place, since I didn't have the new one yet. The boxes were mounted so that the bumper stuck out about 1" farther on each side than the boxes. This would...
I'll most likely do the same if I can't find the parts I'm looking for. The winch plate is a necessity because with the winch mounted on top of the frame I need the fairlead mounted on top of the bumper. The top bolt holes will be used for this. The large round and oval holes will most likely be...
I think it was June 2012. It was ink stamped and is now painted, but I'm pretty sure that's what it was.
For reference, here is a picture of the winch guard and slave port bracket I need NSNs for. I can make them but I'd like for them to at least look correct. I come across a lot of MRAP stuff...
I made and installed the 3 cover plates for the access holes in the front.
If anybody has any NSNs for some of the parts for this bumper I'd be interested. I don't necessarily need the parts but I can get the dimensions from the NSNs. Two main parts I'm interested in are the Slave Port...
Thank you for the kind words. I wouldn't have it without your, or Andrmorr's, help. GA and OK aren't exactly the closest states.
The C-channel came about after I decided to close those large holes in the back. I could imagine those holes being a perfect place for a wasp nest, and getting stung...
I still have to make the 3 cover plates for the front, since I haven't been able to source them, but I'm considering it done for now.
The grill guard portion of the bumper will be done after this is installed.
You're blowing our cover. It was sposed to be a covert club that was only rumored to exist from hushed words spoken in the shadows. We don't even have the official handshake designed yet.
We've had a lot of rain here too, and despite the liqui...lique...yeah that, I've made some...
I like that. One day I'll get started on mine...one day.
I have a bunch of those shackles and mounts like you used for sale if anybody needs some. They're new and are already CARCed.
