Why are CUCV prices so much higher that Civi Chevs

They are often referred to as million mile speedos. 007547.3 is what it reads in the pic. The factory speedo rolls over at 100,000 miles, the pictured one rolls over at a million. So I guess technically it's a 999,999.9 speedo and the original is 99,999.9 speedo. And since we are being...

They still make 2 post radios so that one doesn't need to mutilate the sheetmetal. With todays Ipods and phones and such, it would make sense to just hide an amp and speakers with a plug for your media player of choice.

Why are CUCV prices so much higher that Civi Chevs

It is what it is. There is plenty of documentation to confirm it. I don't think it is a selling point but if someone asks the history of the 6.2, why lie to them? I just don't see the truth as misleading.

Why are CUCV prices so much higher that Civi Chevs

Actually, it is like a Detroit Diesel, just not a 2 stroker. Detroit was part of the reason it came about as they were a principle designer and it's similar to the 8.2. If one were to try to describe it, it's like the folks at Detroit chucked an 8.2 and a small block in a blender and hit...

See if this works. It's a 28 page ordering guide for 1984. It's civilian but you can see the 6.2 as an option. Page 16 has the price you want to see. I think most will be surprised at the cost.

Now Rick, this is not meant to be anything but humor so please don't get upset. I agrees that you leave everything bone stock. Everone here knows that this is what you prefer. Now here is the funny part...........except ambulances. LOL

One must be careful not to compare asking prices to selling prices.

Civilian 1 tons didn't get the 208 transfer case. When the CUCV came out I found this very weird but the little 208 has proven itself. I've owned an 86 K30, 87 V30 and an 88 V30. All 3 had the 400 turbo and 205 case. I have great respect for the 208 now. 2.61 low range can really be a blessing.
