    Making a 4x4 from a 6x6 ?

I have found it is best to have everything on hand at the start of a build. None the less, it will be a big job !

    Making a 4x4 from a 6x6 ?

Thanks Suprman. I have been watching for about a year now. And their just going up,up,up. Was hopping that the trend would slow but ? No luck. The 700 lbs would be good. When I pulled my 5th wheel stuff I needed the forklift to move things around. She even groaned a little when I pulled the plate.

    Making a 4x4 from a 6x6 ?

Here is my thinking after looking a the 6x6. It will need a box ( living space ) and that floor could be built to be stiff for its own load. The extra axle will give 33%+- more traction than the 4x4 (M1078). It would have more flotation +- ?(think sand ,mud). Would be heavier than the M1078 but...

    Making a 4x4 from a 6x6 ?

What do you think ? Could the M1088 without the 5th wheel stuff lose 1000 lbs ?

    Making a 4x4 from a 6x6 ?

I have moved on. This could be done but the 6 wheels and tires are looking better. So, a M1078 weight's 16,699 lbs. And a M1088 is 18,640. Do you think the 5th wheel stuff weights 1000 lbs. ?

    Making a 4x4 from a 6x6 ?

No sh!t . LOL With having to build the box I don't think the odd chassis is going to be that much of big deal . Also everything is going to be a one off anyways. Here is a shot of the semi/RV build. Needed to stretch the chassis for the 20' box. I'm just trying another way around the problem...

    Making a 4x4 from a 6x6 ?

Suprman,do you think the idea of pulling the 5th wheel stuff and using the chassis is doable ? I know it adds work but ? Its a little bigger than what I had in mind but, what the he!! ! Thanks for your input also ! Randy

    Making a 4x4 from a 6x6 ?

Looking at the M1088, if I unbolt the 5th wheel stuff and some of the other stuff a box should bolt right on. And their is the 290 HP !! And the main reason is I mite be able to bid and win this one ?? LOL Mainly because it is harder to convert it ! Would have been better to get a M1078 but...

    Making a 4x4 from a 6x6 ?

Still thinking about this. Other than the 5th wheel stuff is their anything ? When I did my Semi/RV I just pluged the 5th whell lines. Been looking a photos of rear deck and see what is a cooler. Ideas what it is cooling ? Rear axle's ? Still trying to find TM,s on this truck. Man it was used...

    Making a 4x4 from a 6x6 ?

As I start looking at this idea I think I would use the holes that are their and just do some plating. Been thinking about a air bag rear ?
