jgbhose.com/technical-reference-literature/maximum-recommended-air-flow.asp still looking for calculators. this chart is for 100 ft and not 8 ft. for calculations I am using 8 ft. until the input of the turbo. 100 ft of 3 inch pipe will have 20 psi on it at 600 cfm. This is input pressure and...

    Snorkel size for 1009

this snorkel is not what I am trying to achieve, I don't like it running down the fender. I like his pre-cleaner but I am worried about the cfm. I think the pattern on the side is cool and a nice touch but the welds are a little nasty, could have used a grinder and why go through the trouble of...

    Snorkel size for 1009

So far no luck on ram air heads with 4 inch pipe. Donaldson's website shows 6 inch the smallest they have. The pre-cleaners are going to be to large for the cfm needs. I will have a semi pre-cleaner in the fender. The fender duct will be much larger than the down pipe and the pipe that connects...

found many other calculators and all range from 600 to 1000 on the high side. The pre-cleaners for this much air flow are to large. I think I have to go back to looking at snorkel heads with 4 inch pipe.

http://www.widman.biz/English/Calculators/CFM.html For those interested in this thread, I found this calculator to find CFM of the 6.2 liter engine with a turbo. It appears that the max CFM is close to 1000. trying to find some other info or calculators to confirm.

    Snorkel size for 1009

I plan to weld the exterior portion of the snorkel to the fender. Behind the hood hinge there is a little over one inch wide by 8 inch gap that when boxed out is much larger than a 4 inch tube. Using some pretty thin sheetmetal and JB weld the inside of the fender will have an inner skin...

    Snorkel size for 1009

I was planning on a Donaldson scoop but had looked at the 'top spin' also. The top spin looks ok and performance would be better than scoop. I plan to use metal exhaust pipe which will connect to the fender right in front of the door. The inside of the fender will be encapsulated with an exit...

I am building my snorkel and I have been shopping heads. My pipe will be metal. I am trying to determine the size. 3.5 probably looks best. 4 inch looks a little large. and 3 inch a little small. The total length to the air filter box is about 7ft. I am installing a banks turbo with banks air...
