This topic is worthy of it's own thread if there is not one already. It is conceivable as the 800 series began deliveries in '69, but personally I have never seen pics of one. The older M39A1/A2 series seems to have been used exclusively.

Have her investigate that vehicles from the 70's and before did not have 15 digit VINs. This should be in her guidebooks. My 5 ton truck has the VIN listed as the C . . . number.

The "C329" number is your VIN, that is what is on the frame. The "N . . . " set of letters is the Army registration number and is not part of the VIN.
