The repair manual, under replacement procedures, shows how to set the wiper arm linkage. Once thats set then you can move the arms for fine adjustment.

All of mine come to rest in the standard position. The motor is accessed under the breaker panel it's a bit of work to swap.

Maybe the motor has some type of switch so it knows rest position. I took apart a few trucks I didnt see anything external.
