If it HAS to have a crew cab and HAS to pull a gooseneck, buy a crew cab, flat bed, diesel 3500 drw truck. Right now your building a custom truck thats going to be slow on the road and tough to make it do what you want it to do. and have about the same amount of money in it, with no re-sale value.

No the axles aren't locked, open diff. If your planning on using the truck at all, a drop side bed is way more useful.

Finding an m36 might not be as easy as you think. I'd just let the bed hang over the frame in the rear till you see if its too long or not.
