Mep 803 with problems shutting down

Well it was wired wrong, the exciter wire was in the wrong place and what's ironic is there is a diagram on the alternator that says where the wire connects. The batteries were charged so the gauge went to full charge pretty quick. I noticed that the fuel and temp gauges are pegged out all...

Mine has 4 wires two of them have terminals that only fit on the larger post, the other two are small and may have been swapped

I haven't checked it in so long I forget, I'll check the wiring in the am. I don't know how you figured that out but it's been good for me to better learn the unit. Would that keep the unit from putting out power?

Mep 803 with problems shutting down

Pin R on the J3 diagnostics canon plug is hot with the S-1 turned off when the engine is running, when I pull the fuel solenoid to shut off the motor it goes to 0 volts. I checked the wires on both sides of TB6-4, they are correct, 137-N, 137-F on one side and 137-A and 137-U on the other...

Guyfang, earlier in the post you mentioned M5 being wired wrong, should I check M-5 the Fuel Level Indicator for proper wiring?

I rechecked tonight Pin N and no voltage with the switch in off position, Pin K and Pin R have 24 volts in off position. I rechecked and activated CB1 in the off position and it didn't shut off the system. Thanks for the correct pin out document, I enlarged that so I could read a lot easier.

Mep 803 with problems shutting down

I was able to check CB1 before going to work this am, I started the unit and turned S-1 to off then pulled CB1, it didn't turn off. I did try starting the unit with CB-1 pulled out and it would not start.

Mep 803 with problems shutting down

All gauges are working except the voltage gauge (that works intermittent) the battery gauge works and charges and there are no fault lights

Mep 803 with problems shutting down

Ok I just tried that and it did not shut down, it's kind of strange that without the wire connected to the starter solenoid the fuel solenoid shuts off fine.

Mep 803 with problems shutting down

This is what I was working off of.

Mep 803 with problems shutting down

Mep 803 with problems shutting down

My diagram didn't show pin K or R, (strange) Pin R reads 24volts engine running and S1 in the "OFF" position
