    M1008 dragged home today...

Another update. Was 27 this morning so figured I'd take a ride to town. Starts as easily as a new gasser, just fires right up. I know that isn't a true test for real cold but even at that temp it starts better than my neighbors beloved Ford 7.3 lol. Shifting better but still need some adjustment...

I may not have read that specific post, but I did see some talk about his problem in another thread. That's where I got the idea I better check mine out just to be sure. I can feel the vacuum pump drawing a vacuum but I know it's not enough and there are several leaks. The hose coming off the...

Indeed it is! A huge weight off my chest for sure. Not having much money to start and knowing I was rolling the dice with the engine seems it didn't run when I bought it, makes the payoff feel that much better. I'm not normally a gambling man, that's my wife's department lol. After the nerve...

Just a little update. The second IP showed up late yesterday so I got it installed and finally quit for lack of light. Finished up today with the bleeding and installing the intake. She's Alive! Was starting to get a bit discouraged and hoping the engine was good, you know, thoughts go from ehh...

I called Diesel Care this morning and explained the situation to their service department. She asked if I was sure it wasn't an injector problem so I explained why it wasn't and what I had found in my testing. She said as soon as I sign the warranty email that she'd send a new pump would be on...

Yep, I ohm'd from the IP to negative on the front battery and several other places, good ground. That was my first thought thinking the nuts were making a dirty contact and a new gasket. From the blade for the cut off to ground there's nothing, should be some resistance.

What tweaks me the most despite their warranty is most likely looking at another week without a truck waiting on a simple part, or worse, sending this pump back to get another on a round trip. Could have spent $600 at a local shop, if I would have had that much to blow.

New pump made it yesterday so I installed it today. Got everything bled up to the IP and won't ya know the friggin fuel shut off appears to be not working correctly! I'm furious right about now! Double checked to be sure it's getting voltage to it and it is. With the key on and touching the wire...

Have to admit I do have the Green Bug lol. But yeah, I did buy it to haul firewood but also interested in being able to keep stuff dry other times like if I'm hauling lumber or shopping. I was going to put an aluminum cap on my other truck but never got around to it. I kinda like the utility of...

I didn't think they started the no gasket trick till the early 90's, maybe that was a gasser time period. I bought a new GM crate engine last year and still had gaskets, although glued on like there was no tomorrow. Don't remember the manufacture date but it was in the late 80's some time. I...

It never showed up using CUCV M1008 or CUCV M1009. It finally showed up searching CUCV relay. I don't know why my search results would be different unless it adjusts based on my search history. NAPA stocks them so I will get one through them so I don't have to wait on shipping. I get a bit...

    M1008 dragged home today...

The -34P tm had them. I didn't find anything using the Bosch # but the number in the -34P tm (12033862) searched in NAPA came up with an ECH AR272. It shows my local NAPA stocks them so I'll grab one this week. I'll have to remember, when the -20P TM doesn't have the number, look in the -34P...

Thanks, yes that one had them. Funny, some identical figure and same parts breakdown but it wasn't omitting certain parts like the -20P did.

So far no dice on ebay and haven't been able to find the part number for them, if there was something printed on the relay I do have it's no longer visible.

Got the TM's from here. The grommet I'm not worried about, have one coming as edited in the post. The relay issue is where I'm at now. Here are screenshots of the TM for the relay parts... This is where I was talking about the part numbers being omitted.

    M1008 dragged home today...

I've been looking in TM-20P and have yet to find a part number. Even searching "relay" doesn't bring it up in the list. It shows the images of the relays and what number, but going to the list below has the number omitted. Goint towards the end on the TM where you can look the figure and the...

My Gen2 light wasn't coming on when key turned to run but I thought it might be a bad bulb. Now realizing that the relay missing next to the starter relay is the Gen2 relay, will that cause the light to be out? My voltage gauge hasn't worked so can I borrow the relay from there to replace the...

    M1008 dragged home today...

Anyone have a NAPA part number for the oil fill grommet? I picked up the rest of my gaskets today but neither Advance or NAPA even showed the oil fill grommet. Out of curiosity I dropped the mil part# (14028942) into NAPA's search and it came up with NAPA part # NOE 7031301. They had to order...
