    taboo to talk

Had several chats with individuals from motor services in FL DHSMV and came to the realization that they are clueless on the subject and will tell you something even without knowing anything about what they are talking about. The first person told me that the frames are different between the H1...

    taboo to talk

In terms of anything is possible, sure, but we remember we are talking about money. These are tax payer dollars that we are putting back into their pockets. What we are paying for these is substantially more than the scrap value. By some rough calculations or 4000 sold so far at an estimated...

Street legal and probably not crash tested.

    taboo to talk

That is why we want to legally get these on the road. We know that what we are buying isn't street legal. The idea is to find out what we need to do to make it such. Be that a louder horn, adding a 3rd brake light, DOT approved seatbelts, etc. No one is advocating finding ways to skirt the...

    taboo to talk

The more I dig into this, the more I am starting to agree. After reading this yesterday, it seems even more like it. www.dla.mil/AboutDLA/News/NewsArticleView/Article/744102/coming-soon-to-a-trail-near-you-maybe/ It almost seems like they are afraid of something. Maybe having to justify what...

    taboo to talk

No one is complaining. This is about information sharing and understanding of what are the proper legal options we have with ownership. The last thing I want to see is someone skirting the law, having a problem and ruining this for the rest of us. There is a ton of misinformation and...

It isn't classified so it is public record. If I can get the contract number, I can look it up. It isn't easy to look up without the number because of the huge number of contracts that are awarded. From what I can tell it was awarded July 25, 2014, but I don't see the award for that day.

    taboo to talk

I really wish that someone could come up with the contract number that IP was awarded this contract with. It would help to sort out what is going on. Clearly you are not allowed to alter forms and that would help to know if that is a IP activity or if they were instructed by DLA to stamp them...

You are absolutely right about the marking. I am sure GP doesn't want to be involved, but that doesn't mean that they can violate government policy even at the request of DLA. Have you by chance found the GP contract with DLA? I have been searching unsuccessfully.

It does clearly state "Any alteration or erasure voids this certificate". Adding a stamp does exactly that. Not to mention that they are listing GP as the transferee. If that is the case, then GP would have to be the one filling out the EUC. I wonder if you can request a SF97 directly from DLA?

    taboo to talk

If that is true, I wonder if they are allowed to alter a federal document?

    taboo to talk

Totally agree with not allowing illegal discussion of ways to circumvent the issues. I assume that discussion around what needs to be done to correct the misunderstanding and laws is OK? The reality is that is the only way we can get both sides of the challenge working together to a solution...

    taboo to talk

Totally agree. I am buying something that in the condition it is being sold that it isn't road worthy. Mine was missing a headlight, the other didn't work, Mirror was broken, etc. Clearly it wasn't road worthy. That is the CYA on the government/govplanet's side. They have to do that because...

    taboo to talk

That is exactly my point of ignorance. Someone misinterprets a seller doing some CYA as support for their position makes no sense to me. Much like Jakob, I wonder if Ms Johnson has actually read what she uses as her support. I also assume that Ms Johnson is not familiar with Michigan's...

    taboo to talk

Have you read the link you posted? It simply states the way they are being sold. Have you purchased one? I have and I did not sign anything stating that in agreement for purchase that I would use it exclusively off road. That statement in the link is simply there to protect the seller. DOD...

    taboo to talk

I still don't understand why it is taboo to talk about it here. The Defense Logistic Agency isn't the organization that determines what your state DMV issues titles and registrations too. Yes they stamp them with "off road only", but that is for their protection and has absolutely nothing to...
