    I suggest doing it before continuing. Losing a wheel bearing at speed is no fun. I've never had a 5ton hub more than just warm, even loaded, even after driving all day.

    Don't push the driving. Seriously. What is more or less safe in a pickup truck is a very bad idea in an unknown 5ton. Falling asleep at the wheel is a bad idea in anything. But you want to be alert and fresh enough that you'll notice and immediately react properly to things that could go...

    Since you've got a chase vehicle, don't buy duplicate parts/tools until/unless you need them. Just my (admittedly cheap) opinion.
