    If that is your hitch in the pics above, is that a washer under the castle nut? I do not have that. and there is no flange on my castle nut.

    You also do not want the castle nut on there tight. The hitch is supposed to be able to rotate in the hole. Hence the grease zerk on the back side.

    Only about 1 - 1 1/2 threads stick out past the edge of my castle nut. How far down is the cotter pin hole on yours?
