This Tug has a torque converter for smooth/yerkfree towing. You change the gear by using the clutch, you have immediatly get the pedal free and you can drive like an automatic transmission.
It´s a real family MV , 5 seats, 4 doors,13 windows :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

406.145 tug has an extra heater system under the rear bench. It run with diesel . You can preheat the engine coolant and you can heat the cabin. All without running the engine.
Thats fine if you have to wait for the next task at cold weather.
Right, and the sieve/screen at the end of the exhaust pipe (last pic) prevents passing glowing soot from the diesel engine blowing into the wheel well from the plane. A savety feature.
An interesting feature of the Unimog aircraft tug. The extra back window behind the backrest for a safe view to the hitch. Yes, this window has a wiper,too.
.........some more pics from the UNIMOG 406.145 tug. You can tilt the crew cab for better work on engine and drivetrain. There was no need for us to practice , so the 3rd pic is borrowed from another enthusiast. ;)
Back to the Teufelsberg field station with the Unimog. It don´t look as steep as it is. Good look over the green lung of Berlin City.
