Any vehicle that has power steering can make a screeching noise when turned to the knuckle stops. The over-pressure valve is relieving pressure and it makes a squealing sound. Hate to say it but you might have clutch damage. That screeching sound is a lack of fluid and the clutch trying to engage. That is also why your performance is bad. The clutch packs are slipping. There are not many transmission shops left that can work on a AT1540/AT540 transmission. Even though...
