Also just looked at the specs and the narrow one is 18” wide which could possibly be modified but in the stowed position it’s 6” tall which becomes in the danger zone.
I tested the amp research bed step and in my opinion in the stowed position it still hung down to far. I like the single Thule electric step but is it available in the us?
I agree with you the problem with the cable or chain is it’s a ladder and when exiting it’s always difficult finding that bottom step because it’s hiding under the box. This design would put the step in a visible more natural area.
