    Finally got me a deuce!

"I hope it doesn't give me to much grief if / when I remove it. I will get a 2nd pair of hands to help out. Let it fall on his fingers 😅" Now that's using your noggin!

    Finally got me a deuce!

My alternator failed on me three times on my old deuce. Had it rebuilt twice from the same shop, first it was the regulator then the brushes. When it failed for the third time I just replaced it with a 24v AC Remey and had a local shop fab up a bracket for me, didn't have anymore issues with it...

    Now that would be cool!

    Finally got me a deuce!

Haha, same here. However, most of us don't put the kind of mileage on a deuce like we would a normal vehicle, but letting the tires sit and not get worked seems to be one of the bigger contributions other than being in constant sunlight that leads to premature dry rot and cracking, other times...

    Finally got me a deuce!

I noticed that one tire had the cracks too. Both of my front tires, look like that and have been since last year. Wasn't until coming back from the Haspin Rally I noticed one had two big gashes in the sidewall that make me nervous so when I get time, I have two decent Goodyear's to swap them out...

Those shields do look good and definitely adds some nice detail, appear thick and beefy too!

    Finally got me a deuce!

I would recommend adding some led lights on the bumper. At least if you lost the headlights, you can use those. I added some amber flood lights on my bumper and those work better than the actual head lights. I just angled them down a little and towards the center so it doesn't blind on coming...

    Finally got me a deuce!

Wasps, mice, and birds just seem to love the military trucks for some reason. Mine has a robin's nest in the spare tire carrier, and a few wasp nests towards the back under the truck on the inside of the frame. Not only do we need a spare tools, belts, spare tire, oil, and coolant, now we need...

    Finally got me a deuce!

Pretty sure that's part of the steering arm. Looks like you'll need longer bolts, but I have no idea if that would make your steering any different or affect the safety aspect of it.

    Finally got me a deuce!

One of them is air full time and the other only activates when the brake is applied. I'm not 100% sure on that but you'd want to verify that in the TM's if you plan on hauling a trailer or anything.

    Finally got me a deuce!

I hear ya there. The window assembly has some clips that hold the window to the window regulator and when mine fell off, it was a nightmare getting it back on and together properly. My neighbors definitely heard me that day, that's for sure, probably every curse word in the book, 😆

    Finally got me a deuce!

The shipping on many items for these trucks because everything is usually big and/or heavy is the usual killer on the wallet. The doors are never any fun, like you said, not a lot of room to get your hands up in there but if you have any young kids or teenagers who'd like to earn a buck...

    Finally got me a deuce!

My bad, I do that sometimes, lol. Surprisingly, after owning two M35's, I've never been stranded by a mechanical failure, fuel issue, or even a blown tire (knock on wood), it's always been those darn belts. The third time I had extras on hand and the tools to do it, so I wasn't stranded for...

    Finally got me a deuce!

These multifuels typically run cooler on idle compared to normal vehicles, the coolant system is quiet effective to say the least, lol. No bubbles, that's good and as long as the coolant level is full, check it after a few drives to make sure it's still full, if so, you're good. Hopefully that...

    Finally got me a deuce!

Let it run with the radiator cap off and watch the neck. Start it and as it heats up, should see air bubbles come out. Once the bubbles are practically gone and it's a steady flow that is wanting to come out, you got the air out. Typically when full, the coolant should be in the neck of the...

    Finally got me a deuce!

Oh believe me, my deuce stuff takes up most of our shed and about half my shelf on my work bench. My old lady complains about it all the time 😆

    Finally got me a deuce!

Can't hurt to buy a new gauge and temp sending unit, worse comes to worse, you'll have spare parts for when you do need it if that's not the issue. I don't need a new fuel gauge or generator gauge, but I bought them anyways when I found a good deal on them. Same with bulbs, I have enough to...

    Finally got me a deuce!

One goes to the sending unit while the other is the power from the accessory switch.
