In need help gathering information on these old deuces

The first option is what I was leaning towards. I am not sure I would want a 205 in there. As stout as they are, I am going with something a little bigger.

That sounds right. I knew it was a gasser bottem end. It is a shame they could not make it work. Imagine how cheap parts would be.

In need help gathering information on these old deuces

That brings up a issue I have dealt with in the past. I have learned that a lot of people make the mistake of thinking Detroit engines were biult by GM. A few old timer Detroit mechanice told me that. They told me a GM biult Detroit does not exist. I am not saying what I learned is correct, but...

I meant the only GM biult deiasel engines I know of is the 6.2 and 6.5. So yes, cpmpared to those a 8.3 is big.

That is exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks.

Is the lug pattern on the M211 the same as the more modern dueces? I think they are I just wanted to varify.

Tony, I am very interested. But Cali is too far. I could never afford the shipping. Wreckerman, I would like ot know more. What part of Bama are you in? Naw, that is not much at all. ;-)

That does sound like a good set up. But it ruins my multi fuel reasons. Wait, I have never heard of a GM 8.3 deisel. Are you sure GM made a deisel that big?

In need help gathering information on these old deuces

I thought about a 6.5 swap as well. I really like those engines. But one of the main reasons I want a deuce is for the multi fuel engine. I wish I could jump on one now. But all our money is tied up in several deuces we bought recently. Plus, I prefer there not be another project truck...

If I have to biuld a dog house anyway, why go through the hassle of fitting the cab to a different frame?

I just did a littel research and I have a few more questions. Besides the bed what is the difference between the M135 and M211?

That truck is way too nice. I would not part out a truck like that. I would however drive the hell out of it though.

That is a good idea. Will the front clip still fit the engine though?

That looks great. Now that I know hard tops are available the only issue is going to be the engine fitment. Some photographs of the engine bay would help.

In need help gathering information on these old deuces

Shoot me straight no this one. I want this model deuce because I love the way it looks. That is the only reason I am willing to put that kind of work into bringing it up to a more modern standard. After looking at my wish list and confirming I am dead set on a multi fuel engine, would I be...

In need help gathering information on these old deuces

Thanks. That will give me a big head start. I would really like to see a photograph of the drive shaft and tandem set up. I searched for one earlier but no luck.

In need help gathering information on these old deuces

A couple more questions. What is this deuce called? I know it sounds stupid, but I have heard a few differetn naes and numbers for it. When I start tracking parts, what should I call it so people know what I am talking about? This one might take a while to answer. I see the more modern deuces...

There is not a splitter at the tandems? That would make it more difficult. DO you have a photograph of how it is set up?

In need help gathering information on these old deuces

That sucks. I wanted a multi-fuel so I can run wast oil. I do not want to hack up the cap that much. I have have a 5.9 though.

Thanks. That is also good information. As far as the engine I am really set on a multi fuel from a modern deuce.
