no a bigger hydro tank for the power unit from a frame machine they are only set up to run one 2 inch diameter 12inch stroke cylinder .and the dump cylinder will probably be a 4inch diameter 24inch stroke or bigger.air tank on truck will be fine the power unit wont use much air

ok an air op hydro pump would work great they make them for frame pulling machines you would just have to make a bigger tank for it :roll:good thinking

only way it might be possible with air is to use multipule air bags from a semi and you would have to regulate the speed the air filled the bags and have a limit strap of some kind to keep the bed from over dumping and damaging the bags maybe a set of shocks could be used to keep things going up...

an air cylinder would have to be huge to dump any kind of weight. to get the same lift capacity as a 4inch cylinder running on hydro pressure of 2000psi you would need an air cylinder that is 64 inch diameter running on 125psi :roll:

i was thinkin dampening it might be a problem since any change in load would cause a uncontroled bounce but i was planning on doing a scissors setup which would limit it and the raio would help the bounce to

i was thinking about doing that with a m105 and thought about using a air bag from a semi to do the lifting since they can be had fairly cheap and lift huge amounts of weight .i would use a two valves one to fill from the air supply and one to vent to drain and lower the bed :roll:

many drag race cars run 16 volt batteries and alts to give the ignitions and starters more power to keep up with the heavy demand placed on them and they help the starter hold up not hurt it's durability.most electirc motors will hold up to an overvoltage situation for quite a long time...

not sure on the ac motors but i know for a fact that you can run a 12volt motor an 24 volt or a 6 volt motor on 12 volts with no problem cuz i have done it .yes relays and solonoids are a different thing since they dont work the same .yes both have winding but thats where the similarity stops

actually an ac motor is wired the same either way you are just changing the power suplied to it i.e. switching a neutral for another hot thus giving it 240 instead of 120.and yes running it on half of the amps but still the same motor and same wires in the motor .i think you are refering to...

you can just use the frame as your ground and run the power to the pos on the second battery that way you wont need as much expensive battery cable

you use the neg from the first battery and the pos from the second battery otherwise youll only be getting 12 volts which will cause the batteries to discharge unevenly and then it will overcharge the second battery and kill both batteries

correct plus when it runs twice as fast it will only have to run half as long also only running half as long for it to get hot

remember when you run something on 24 volts vs 12 volts it uses only half the amps.i had my pump- scissors setup on another truck running off of 12 volts and it went slllooooowwwww and got really hot when i ran it off 24 volts it fixed it fast and cool .like i said i've been running it like...

no the low rider guys do it all the time they run 12 volt pumps on up to 48 volts .mine is from northern.but my scissor setup it a dual cylinder so it needs twice as much fuild moved to make it work

you can use a 12 volt pump without any problems i have been running mine on 24 volts for over five years .you just have to use 24 volt relays i use a starter relay from a deuce it works great its fast and runs cool
